Brandon David Carter Jr.
Resident Acrylic Artist
Brandon Carter is a native and resident of the Tidewater area of Virginia. He began sketching at the age of four. When his parents realized his love and talent for art, they put him in painting lessons. By the age of twelve he began winning awards, including “Best in Show,” in the local art competitions, beating out several accomplished artists including his own art teacher. By the time he turned fifteen, his teacher released him, due to the fact his skills had advanced beyond hers. Primarily, Brandon uses acrylics in his work, and his talent affords a wide range of styles—from realistic portraits to impressionist landscapes to modern abstracts. His work has been featured in newspaper columns, well as a father son gallery show in Norfolk, Va., where his paintings appeared alongside his father, David Carter’s.
Brandon is happily married and has two grown sons who work with him in the family business. He currently runs Brandon House Furniture in Suffolk, Va. When Brandon’s not working or creating art, he loves spending time with his bride aboard their boat. Brandon attends Believer’s Baptist Church and his life verse is Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (ESV)
