Welcome Home to Autumn!

I’m excited the doors are open for our fall season at The House. I love coming back after a long summer break feeling refreshed and inspired. I hope you do too.

I love autumn. Although, we don’t experience a true fall regarding the weather  here in central Florida. Instead we, Floridians are blessed with imaginations and cranked-down industrial AC systems to give us an excuse to throw on a cardigan.

In my home, my fall shift brings delight to the senses. (If I must say so myself) I start with a home edit (which we will cover in another post), toss in some warmer colored textiles,  layer in the textures, burn cinnamon scented candles, and play alternative acoustic, jazz, classical, or gospel music on the Sonos. (Why I think they’re fall sounds I don’t know) Seasons like fall not only take us back in time–hopefully to a good place–but also tend to ignite our creativity.

Furthermore, autumn is a time of harvest, a time to inventory our blessings, and express our gratitude to our Heavenly Father. If you keep a journal– perhaps you– like I, take time to jot down those gratitudes.

I’d love to hear about your fall traditions, or what you love about the season. Come over to our Facebook group today and join the conversation.

This Season at The House:

In the Kitchen:

Each month In the Kitchen we will utilize Pinterest to share content on a monthly board, we believe our readers will enjoy.

Trish Wall our recipe guru, will continue sharing her autumn-inspired recipes.

In the Living Room:

Are you striving or thriving? This summer, God revealed my own striving and burnout as a result of it. I share this on the premier podcast which will post on Thursday September 5th. It will be the launch of our new series this fall titled: How to Thrive in His Abundance. We will examine the gospel and the lessons Jesus imparts to us, on how to live in His abundance, with an emphasis on the creative life.

Our podcast will change to a bi-weekly format and will run seasonly. You can find The Hallelujah House podcast on Podbean, Apple Podcast, You Tube, and Spotify.

In addition, a corresponding show note will appear on our site.

In the Studio:

Our focus will not be on building social media this season, as too many platforms have become overwhelming to manage. We will share a weekly list of Christian artist, craftsman, worship songs, or videos we find inspiring. This will appear as a weekly roundup post.

We will also feature our own resident artists, their work, studios, and messages on The Hallelujah House.

In the Library:

In the library, we will begin posting the books our residents are currently enjoying and what they like about them. We will also pick an author each month to spotlight.

In the Playroom:

We will be changing our playroom, by not including videos of our girls, in order to better protect their identities as they’re growing. They are bummed of course that they won’t be getting that You Tube Golden Play Button after all.

Instead, we will periodically share their art activities in a blog and picture format here. We will also feature articles regarding children and the importance creativity.

That’s a glance at our fall season. So, come on in.

I hope you will make our House your home, by becoming an email subscriber and by joining our private Facebook group.

Welcome Home!
