Karen Mackley, a native of West Virginia, now resides in St. Augustine, Florida, with her husband and children. Having always enjoyed watching others create art, Karen never imagined herself a painter; but in August of 2022, following a tragedy, God used painting as a mechanism for healing in her life. Her art journey began the day she entered Georgia Nick Gallery in St. Augustine and signed up for a class. Here she met many loving, talented people including her art instructor, Paulo Jimenez, who helped shape her skills.

For this, Karen gives all credit to her Heavenly Father, who led her to this gallery and placed these artistic people into her life. She loves sharing her unique journey of how God has utilized art to work in and through her. She firmly believes when we surrender our empty canvas to our creative God, He will bring to life not only beauty in our art, but also in our lives. She hopes her work reflects all He’s done for her.

Karen’s life verse is I Corinthians 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
